Can I fit my standard 22.2 mm handlebar on this stem? No, this stem is strictly reserved for handlebars with a 31.8 mm diameter (often referred to as "Oversize"). It is a complete system (Stem + Handlebar) that must be consistent.

What is the real advantage of 31.8 mm in Race? The larger the diameter, the less the handlebar tends to "flex" under load. For powerful riders or larger builds, this translates into a far more direct feeling of control and better power transfer.

Is it compatible with carbon forks? Yes, it fits perfectly on any 1-1/8" fork steerer, whether aluminium, chromoly or carbon (observing the recommended torque settings).
