The Wolf Tooth T47 bottom bracket is designed for cyclists who demand silence and durability. This asymmetrical model is specifically designed for frames with bottom brackets measuring 85.5 mm (Trek T47 standard) or 86.5 mm.
It combines the best of both worlds: the generous diameter of the standard Press Fit for maximum rigidity, and the security of threaded mounting to eliminate unwanted noise. Machined with extreme precision in Minneapolis, it uses high-quality bearings to guarantee smooth pedaling, mile after mile.
Why is this gearbox called "asymmetrical"? This model is dedicated to frames with non-standard bottom brackets (68/73 mm). It is designed for recent frames using a width of 85.5 mm (very common with Trek) or 86.5 mm, to ensure that the bearings are perfectly positioned.
Is it easy to maintain? Yes, that's one of the great advantages of the T47. Because it's bolted on, it can be easily removed and reinstalled with the appropriate tool, without the need for a heavy press or the risk of damaging the frame's carbon.
What tools do I need for installation? You'll need a 52 mm-diameter T47 housing socket or wrench with 16 notches.
