The TOPEAK SmartHead DX Upgrade Kit is the ultimate retrofit kit for foot pumps. Its all-metal SmartHead DX head is an engineering gem: it automatically detects whether you're connecting it to a Presta or Schrader valve. No need to flip internal seals or choose the right hole, the head adjusts itself instantly.
The aluminium locking lever, particularly long and ergonomic, offers exceptional clamping power to guarantee a total seal, even at very high pressures (up to 200 psi). It's the choice of mechanics who demand speed and reliability at every inflation.
What's the difference with the "TwinHead" model? The TwinHead has two separate outlets (one on each side), while the SmartHead DX has just one hole that "includes" the inserted valve. The DX version is also more upmarket, with its all-metal finish.
Do I need special tools for installation? In general, a simple pair of pliers or an open-end wrench is all you need to remove your old hose and screw the Topeak adapter onto your pump body.
