Evolution of the legendary Python, multiple XC World Cup winner notably with Julien Absalon, the HUTCHINSON Python 2 tire tire is designed for Cross-Country on dry to slightly loose terrain.
In this new version, the Python 29x2.10 combines limited-height sideblocks divided into three distinct sections to ensure optimum grip when cornering, a central chain of studs offering maximum speed on dry terrain while guaranteeing permanent contact with the ground, and in between, upturned "pistol" studs for frank, biting braking.
Combined with the new RaceRipost XC triple tread compound and the HardSkin high-strength nylon textile grid reinforcement under the tread and on the sidewalls to avoid cuts on angular stones, this model delivers excellent performance in terms of both efficiency and longevity.
Available here in Tubeless Ready, version, it can be fitted with or without an inner tube.
Designed by French manufacturer HUTCHINSON, the Python 2 is ideal for rear mounting and perfectly complements the Cobra or Cougar at the front.

"Excellent... great value for the price. Compared to other bike tires, this is the best."
"Hello. The tire meets my requirements. Good traction on slippery surfaces."
"Great tires—puncture-resistant and smooth-rolling."
"After a string of flat tires, thanks to the quality of this tire, the streak finally came to an end. Plus, it's easy to install."
"Installed to replace the Cobra, which was far too prone to punctures. No issues at all over the past 100 km. Easy to install, performs well as a tubeless tire."
"Good performance and durability—I have this tire on the rear, but I'm hesitating to put the same one on the front."
"I bought this item two weeks ago, and the problem is that one of the spokes is badly made. In fact, the tire wouldn’t hold any air at all, and I noticed it had a small tear on the side. I’m very unhappy to have received a defective item from Probike at that price."
"It's a really great tire for the rear wheel; when standing up on steep climbs, it offers far better traction than many other brands. I’ve almost worn out the tire after 2,000 km (including 200 km at Roc d’Azur) in 6 months with 0 flats, 5 or 6 re-inflations, and only 30 ml of sealant during installation! So it’s very durable, very puncture-resistant, and on top of that, it performs very well. It’s easy to get it to seat on the first inflation—no compressor needed—but on the other hand, it’s hard to get the second sidewall onto the rim. If I’m taking off a star, it’s for the weight, even though I know full well you can’t have both durability and lightness at the same time (but hey, it’s still heavier than my 2.25-inch Cobra Hardskin up front, so… ) Plus, they’re made in France—that’s worth a solid 4.5/5."
"Excellent tire—very fast, with great grip in the rocky terrain. The only downsides are its weight (838g) and how hard it is to mount on the wheel (it took me half an hour!). I have it on the rear with a tube, paired with a Cobra (600g) on the front."
"I've got it mounted on the rear wheel as a tubeless tire—no issues so far. I'm not giving it 5 stars just because of the weight."
