Selle Italia also takes a scientific approach to its products. In collaboration with the European laboratory ErgoView, the brand has developed a genuine nomenclature allowing everyone to identify their ideal saddle size. This expertise was made possible through the use of advanced digital instruments and tools, and through studies gathering a large amount of morphological data.

The 6 saddle variants offered by the brand are divided into 2 sizes: S for models with a seat width between 131 and 136 mm, and L for seat widths of 145 to 150 mm. You can also select the width of the central cut-out channel (Flow and SuperFlow technology) or, conversely, opt for a solid saddle depending on the degree of rotation of your pelvis.

The number 1 denotes the absence of a central cut-out channel. These saddles are intended for people who do not have significant pelvic rotation and therefore do not necessarily need to reduce the pressure exerted on the perineum.

Models displaying the number "2" feature a small central cut-out (Flow technology). They are ideal for cyclists with an average pelvic rotation and significantly reduce pressure on the saddle surface.

Characterised by a wide central cut-out channel, the SuperFlow S3 and L3 models are designed for cyclists with a high degree of pelvic rotation. By significantly reducing pressure, these models offer an exceptional feeling of comfort in all positions.

After measuring the intertrochanteric distance (i.e. the distance between the two largest tuberosities of the femur), the thigh diameter and the pelvic rotation using its various sensors, this highly advanced calliper analyses the collected data and uses its internal algorithm to produce a scientific result.
