How to fit road bike levers?
This is a relatively simple operation. Here's how to mount your levers yourself.

Steps
- First, put on the lever on the handlebars.
- Place it in line with the bikePosition it so that the top of the cocotte protrudes 1 to 2 cm above the handlebars. The aim is for the handlebar/cowl connection and the bottom of the handlebar to be as close as possible to parallel with the ground.
- Tighten the clamp bolt to the lowest torque specified by the gear or handlebar manufacturer.
Probikeshop tip: Make sure you use the lowest tightening torque to avoid damaging the handlebars during assembly or when falling.
- Repeat steps 1 to 3 to fit the other lever, ensuring that the 2 levers are parallel and at the same height.
Probikeshop tip: use the graduations on the handlebars or, failing that, a spirit level.
Now that you've assembled your components, all you need to do is fit your handlebar tapes and adjust your derailleurs.
