GT know-how

Angle optimized suspension

Equipped on GT Force and Sensor models, this technology provides improved traction and comfort for safer, more efficient riding.

The system is based on a raised main pivot that creates an optimized rear wheel trajectory to absorb shocks and improve rolling dynamics by keeping the wheels on the ground. By isolating pedaling forces from suspension movement, the A.O.S. system ensures smoother pedaling quality on all types of terrain. What's more, the design incorporates the PathLink linkage system to minimize unwanted chain stretch and pedal feedback.

Independent Drivetrain Suspension

Featured on the GT Fury, Sanction and Verb models, this technology guarantees better shock absorption and increased rigidity, while also being lighter.

In concrete terms, Independent Drivetrain Suspension offers improved pedaling efficiency by isolating the suspension and drivetrain. The floating bottom bracket and rear triangle work independently of each other to eliminate unwanted chain stretch, minimizing pedal feedback and optimizing pedaling efficiency and suspension performance. Bikes featuring Independent Drivetrain technology are designed with a progressive suspension rate (+10%) to maintain control on the most demanding descents and offer comfort over bumps. Last but not least, this technology ensures easy access to the shock absorber for adjustment to suit your needs.

LOCKR Expanding Axle System

This axle on GT Sensor models creates a simpler, lighter and stiffer frame pivot.

Operating on the same principle as some fork thru axles, the Lockr axle system screws into the frame and expands until locked in place. By expanding on both sides of the frame, torque is distributed evenly over all surfaces, increasing rigidity by 6%. Lockr technology also reduces the number of parts required, making the system 10% lighter than traditional solutions using clamping nuts.

Progressive Geometry

Characterized by a longer top tube and shorter chainstays, progressive geometry provides more control on descents, better traction on ascents and greater freedom of movement.

The progressive geometry found on most GT mountain bikes features a longer front wheelbase combined with a shorter stem. The result is better balance on both ascents and descents, greater stability at high speeds and more control in all situations.

Triple Triangle

The famous Triple Triangle frame design makes for a stiffer, more agile bike!

A hallmark of GT bikes for over two decades, the Triple Triangle concept, and in particular the reduced-size rear triangle with two points of contact, is designed to minimize unwanted frame flex, improve acceleration and offer greater comfort. It also provides greater stiffness, superior responsiveness and more precise rear-wheel tracking. The Triple Triangle design offers greater torsional rigidity, improved tire clearance, and superior power transmission to the rear wheel. It also allows the seatstays to be connected to the top tube, so that vibrations are dispersed through the top tube rather than towards the seat tube and thus the rider.

Dynamic Dual Fiber

Featured on GT's Pavement and Gravel models, the Dynamic Dual Fiber component is a blend of glass fiber and carbon that provides both greater control and less fatigue.

As its name suggests, Dynamic Dual Fiber combines two ultra-light, ultra-rigid materials: a fiberglass composite and a carbon outer skin. The former offers outstanding rigidity, while the latter optimally dissipates vibrations. The result is a bike with greater control and comfort in the saddle.

Treadroom

This design, used on the Grade range (Gravel), enables a wide choice of tires to be fitted to suit different types of road and track. The GT Grade accepts tire widths ranging from 28 to 35 mm, including those with large studs, covering all uses (Road, Touring, Cyclocross).

Most manufacturers offer a 2-year warranty on their frames. GT goes much further, guaranteeing its frames for life since 2015. Components come with a one-year warranty, with the exception of forks, which are guaranteed by the manufacturers and for which the warranty period varies from brand to brand.

Note: Please refer to the user manual for more information on the lifetime warranty.
