Since its founding in 1991, FELT has established itself as one of the leading brands in the cycling industry. Its origins stem from a strong partnership: that of motocross star rider Johnny O'Mara and his mechanic Jim Felt. Outside of motorcycling, the two friends share another passion: triathlon. One day, Johnny asked Jim to build him a time trial bike. Jim set to work, focusing on optimising the aerodynamic position of the cyclist. The results were immediate: thanks to this bike, Johnny won several races. Very quickly, the world's best triathletes called upon Jim Felt. The ultimate recognition came in 1991 when the legend of the sport, Paula Newby-Fraser, won the Kona IronMan aboard one of these little gems. Jim then officially founded his company, FELT. For ten years, the brand racked up victories and decided at the beginning of the 2000s to put its expertise to work across other disciplines. Since then, the success has never wavered.
The brand was founded in California, a land of pioneers, entrepreneurs, technology and outdoor enthusiasts. Felt's philosophy is in the same vein. The company has been driven from the outset by a strong desire to produce the most innovative and highest-performing bikes without ever taking the easy route. This mindset endures and FELT supports the greatest athletes with the same determination: Daniela Ryf (four-time IronMan world champion), the United States track cycling team, and Nicola Rohrbach (MTB World Cup and Cape Epic).
