Cannondale Technologies

A permanent
questioning
of the status quo

A true constant since 1971, innovation is unquestionably one of the values that best defines the company. Far from resting on its heritage, Cannondale continually strives to perfect its technologies while developing new ones.

Technologies
aimed at
road cycling
enthusiasts…

In 2000, Cannondale designed the Hollogram Si (for System Integration) crankset and a 30 mm diameter bottom bracket with integrated bearings. Tested at the Tour de France that same year, this PressFit technology would lend its name to the BB30 standard adopted by numerous manufacturers. Less friction, greater rigidity — here is a glimpse of the qualities of the SystemSix road bike: an aero model that maximises power transfer.

The first bike from the brand to be made entirely from carbon, the Synapse road bike features tubes with a specific profile that absorbs vibrations. More or less flexible depending on the riding profile, this "Save" micro-suspension technology significantly improves comfort.

The Topstone Gravel bikes are also equipped with an ingenious suspension solution: the KingPin system softens the rear triangle via a through-pivot and offers up to 30 mm of travel without the need for a linkage shock absorber.

The 13th of its name, the new Cannondale CAAD road bike is today the result of years of experience, legitimately placing the brand among the greatest aluminium specialists. Versatile, comfortable and attractively priced, this model features 6069 aluminium tubes with an aerodynamic design and lively handling.

…but
also for
passionate
MTB riders

In 2002, Cannondale launched what would become one of the most decorated XC models in the World Cup: the iconic Scalpel MTB. Pioneering the way for full-suspension mountain bikes, it now benefits from a sophisticated blend of BallisTec Hi-MOD carbon fibres offering a perfect compromise between lightness and rigidity.

Other models designed for Enduro, such as the Habit, even incorporate a "Proportional Response" kinematics adjusted according to the rider's size. More comfortable, this design above all guarantees better traction and precise bike control. The shorter chainstays and increased rear clearance allow the fitting of wide tyres and a double chainring. All of this is made possible by the "Asymétric Intégration" geometry (or more simply "Ai"), which offsets the drivetrain and the hub by 6 mm to the right and reinforces the overall rigidity.

Today, the Lefty MTB technology — a single-leg fork launched in 2000 and continuously improved since — also equips city bikes such as the Bad Boy. More than just an unusual design, this system achieves a lighter weight, great robustness and superior rigidity compared to most other models on the market.

And a bespoke
electric
offering!

With the Neo ranges, Cannondale gives pride of place to electric. By partnering early with German brand Bosch, the brand opted for quality and performance. Always carefully integrated into the frame, the motor unit offers smooth and powerful pedalling with behaviour adapted to each riding discipline. While the Performance CX motor on the Moterra electric MTB will prove particularly sporty, the Active Line Plus version of the Synapse electric road bike will prioritise suppleness and endurance.

But Cannondale also offers electrically assisted city bikes, with some featuring an Ebikemotion motor as discreet as it is effective.

Digital technology
at the service
of the cyclist

All your bike data, such as: your peripheral settings, journey data, technical information, are now accessible via a simple app. It even tells you what maintenance operations are required while keeping a valuable history. But the Cannondale app also offers video content and a way to measure the positive carbon impact of your journeys.

You will also be able to pair a wheel sensor — developed in partnership with Garmin — for precise measurement of your rides. Smart, it activates at the first pedal stroke without you needing to switch it on manually. While the brand works tirelessly on the technical evolution of its bikes, it now also aims to offer a connected experience that enhances their use.
